much like Kun, doesn't seem able to build on great performances, it's 1 great game, 1 really disappointing one. He takes up a foreign spot and we simply need more from him in the heart of that midfield.
I thought he was one of our few shining lights last night - believe me, I’m no Gundogan fan boy but he’s been excellent recently and seemed one of the most threatening for us last night

What was really disappointing about him last night? Be specific
a player of his quality should be owning Wigan, it shouldn't even be close. Didn't have enough of an impact and wasted 7 shots on goal, he had 2 more shots than Kun and if you get that many opportunities you have to score a couple. He should have been ripping them apart last night and didn't. It's not enough for a player in his role.
I take it David Silva should be ‘owning’ Wigan too, but he didn’t.
Difference is that's an off day to Dave, whereas Ilkay's good days get somewhere close to Dave's normal level. Barcelona home should be Ilkay's ordinary level, it's a pipe dream at this stage.
So, what should have been done by Silva and Sane? I mean, they are both top end starters. Not to mention Aguero... Shouldn't they have been reaping Wigan apart?a player of his quality should be owning Wigan, it shouldn't even be close.
