Pep's confirmed he doesn't intend to sign a new deal. A shame.

It is a shame, you never know maybe winning a quadruple will change his mind.

When he's on form, he's far too good to be on a bench for the rest of him best years, and I don't think he suits playing #6 which is where he's getting most of his minutes anyway. I think a big factor is he's finally looking like he might be a starter for Germany, and that'll only happen if he's playing as much as he did when KDB was injured.

As far as leaving is concerned, I can't get too upset at him because he's given the club so much notice. He's said with 15-18 months left on his contract he's not intending to extend and left it up to the club how to handle things. It's completely different to Milner who strung the club along saying he just needed to see if he'd get played more until weeks before his contract expired.

We should get £35-40m for him in the current market. That would repay basically his entire fee + salary for the 3 years he's been here with change left over.

Doesn't want to extend? That's fine. But Foden should now be getting all his game time. Even if in the short term it costs us it will reward us long term once he has developed into a world class footballer. We only want players who want to be here and will give 100% to the cause. Can we now say that about Gundogan who will have one eye on his next move?
