Makes me laugh how people are picking gunndy and otto for all our mistakes, it ain't just them for fuck sake sterling has been useless the last few games and ferny ain't been much better this is Norwich and wolves where the whole team were crap not just those two

Odd - Fernandinho has been up there with our best playing at CB mate

It's completely understandable why Pep doesn't want to go with David and Bernardo as two number 8s or David and Foden or Foden and Bernardo as number 8s. It's because Gundo is more of a typical centre mid who can sit deeper and spread passes from deep. On the other hand, if we play with both Silvas none of them are true centre mids, one is a playmaker who operates in inside channels between the lines (David), the other one is an inverted winger (Bernardo). Even Foden isn't a typical CM, he's more of a copy of David who operates between the lines in inside channels (main difference is physicality, Phil has amazing burst of speed from standing position when he receives the ball and then accelerates). However, neither Bernardo nor David or Phil are true CM's who can lie deep and ping pong passes when circulating the ball from side to side. Pep wants balance (one actual CM who operates from deeper and one sort of playmaker who positions between the lines in inside channels). That's why we see both Silvas starting together in number 8 roles so rarely. When Gundo and KDB play together it's against more physical sides and then it's Gundo who operates more in inside channels on the left.

Either most of our fans are clueless or Pep is blind or he might see something hidden in him. Hard to tell !

It seems to me that you can only play Gundo in the Rodri/Ferno role or in the CM role if Kev is playing. It does not seem to work if he is paired with David. Personally after yesterday I don't see how a combination of David and Bernardo/Foden or indeed Foden and Bernardo would be any worse than the Wolves combination. Indeed a strong case can be made on the basis of mobility and speed alone Berno and Phil would be far more effective than an ageing Merlin and a ponderous Gundo.

Any other pairing other than Gundogan/Silva, there's too much jab and not enough punch, it's pretty but not aggressive/direct enough.

It's simple, gundy and dave get in each others way, both are slow now, gundy has the bollocks of nasri, godlove rodders but he is fighting on his own and has only been here a couple of months,it's the combination that's wrong

He's overweight and wants out.
You dont sign a 4yr contract if you want out, he would have waited his season out and left on a free for a huge signing on bonus.

Gundogan isn't a bad player but sometimes Pep puts him out in teams and it just doesn't work. Its easy to pick out the lad for perceived lack of effort.
