Was waiting for City to start briefing that we weren't interested - kinda like when Diaz was linked last week - but then a bit of time went by and nothing got said. Now they're briefing that we are interested to all the usual mouthpieces, Sam, Pol, etc. While Fabrizio's clearly been told by Gundogan's agent that he's been told to bugger off by Barca and Ornstein is happily reporting the same news from Barca's side as well. God I hope he picks us over Turkey or another PL team.

That was my thought as well that we would take Gundo if Cancelo leaves with an obligation to buy, finally.

2) After what happened with Cole Palmer, we shouldn't bring in an almost 34 year old dude that will limit playing time for younger players.

3) Gundogan earns €20m yearly at Barca. I seriously doubt he accepts a massive pay cut to join us, even if it's only for a year.

Thankfully the club won’t be so negative about the possibility.

Cole Palmer did fuck all for Man City despite being surrounded with 'mentors' like Gundogan. It wasn't until he got consistent amount of playing time that Cole Palmer became the player he is now. The same is true for Phil Foden.

Nunes wouldn't be anywhere near in a UCL semi-final game like Kalvin Phillips was.



A young player needs playing time for improvement and increase his value for the club. The idea of being 'role model' is overrated.



Gundogan can become an assistent immediately after his retirement as professional footballer if he wishes so. It doesn’t justify him taking up a squad spot.
