Ilkay Gundogan - He's Back, Welcome Home

So (Turkish) delighted at the thought of seeing Ilkay back in the City shirt. It just adds to the feel good factor.
Then I thought about the wider context.
This is world class performer with almost 400 club appearances and 80+ international caps.
This is a footballer who couldn’t get out of Barcelona quick enough to rejoin “the best club in the world”.
For us FOCs -breathe it in again. A world class player wanting out from freaking Barcelona to be with us !!!
Unbelievable Jeff.
And it’s not as if he was a bit part player at brokalone, he was widely regarded as their best midfielder last year. There is no doubt that a fit gundo is one of the best cultured midfielders in the world. A game winner and an absolute asset to any team.

Takes a big man to as good as say he made a mistake and come back

Welcome back mr whippy

Everyone made a mistake on that transfer.

Ilkay was daft to leave and City were daft to not offer him the longer contract that would’ve convinced him to stay.

Good sense all round has prevailed in the end.

All our other legends Vinnie, David, Yaya, Sergio, Zaba and Ferna went at the right time. Gundo left too soon though, and he's put it right by coming back.

For anyone worried how this will affect the youngsters game time, just imagine it's the CL final tomorrow against Madrid and we have a few injuries, who are you throwing in to that midfield? McAtee or Gundo? It's a no brainer. The youngsters will get their chances when the time is right.

Wonderful news!
Anyone have links or copies of the old fan commentary highlights that the PL put a stop to?
I loved the freeze frame followed by the Mr Whippy ice cream van noise then a resumption of the action.

anyone got any youtube highlight reels of him? i need to get up to speed .... ;)
