But with us and our drought, it isn't unreasonable for the fans to have expected we might be going for it.TheMightyQuinn said:Fuck me. We didn't throw the game, we simply did what other top clubs do and picked a weaker squad than usual. Injuries also hindered us somewhat but no one seems to mention that.
Not sure what use it would be the club telling us we'd be fielding a weaker team. Anyone with any sense would of known that already and I'd assume that most fans don't base attendance on selection policy.
Don't get me wrong, whilst a defeat always leaves a sour taste, I'm not overly bothered as stated previously, as I would imagine there is a list of priorities in the club and everyone is complicit in the decisions taken tonight.
Where I am supportive of some elements - and particularly for those who paid their hard earned and attended - is it would have been nice for the club to state we'll be making numerous changes and giving the kids a chance. People could then have made an informed choice.
Otherwise, like I say, I'm not too bothered as it means there'll be concerted push in the league, Europa League and hopefully they FA Cup.
I just think that with the current fixture list being 2 games a week that it stands to reason that Mancini can not field a full strength 11 every game. Sacrifices had to be made.
