I'm not going to Hamburg!

I registered on the Thomas Cook site the day it was posted with the arrangements for the Hamburg game.
As I only have 3500 points it was always going to be close and as sure as eggs are eggs I missed out as the trip was over subscribed. Although I could have got a ticket I couldnt get there at a reasonable cost as lowcost etc were fully booked too.
Last night I decided to email Garry Cook to complain at my predicament.
Low and behold this morning I got a phone call from Danny Wilson explaining the clubs position and constraints.
Danny was very helpful and explained how difficult it is for Thomas Cook to accurately assess the number of fans travelling at such short notice and making sure they are not left with a half empty plane etc. To be honest I fully understood where he was coming from and I appreciate his call and also the help he gave me in another matter.
Some of the things he told me were that we have 400 season ticket holders with 5000 points or more, 75% of season ticket holders took up the Hamburg home and 3500 point should ensure a UEFA cup final ticket if we get there!
All in all he seemed a really decent guy.

And take it from me, they do read the forums!!!!

Must say im impressed with the interaction between Wilson and the fans.

Whilst I would say the ticket office had made mistakes here, the PR side of things is much improved

I agree, my main point was that I only found out on Monday I wasnt going to a match in Germany which was on Thursday...too short notice.

So 3500 would be the cut off for Istanbul if EVERY seasoncard holder wanted to go? Or is this just based on 75% wanting to go... wow.. thought my 3000 would have been enough!

Feel for you. I was in the other boat I had travel and was willing to travel on spec. Ended up getting a ticket over here, but paid through the nose.

nah, seeing as he said he has 3500 im hoping he asked if that would be enough rather than that being the cut off point. (fingers crossed as i have 3250)
