I'm sick of it now

It's not all about cups, our progress this season has been in the fact that we now posses a fear factor for teams, especially at home, I'd much rather be going into next season as the most feared team in the league, which I think we are, than Carling Cup winners.
The search for Cook's successor sums up our owners perfectly, it won't be done until its done correctly, our club is in the hands of the ultimate business people, not winning a trophy this year will not even register in the future, the foundations of success are very nearly complete and I wouldn't swap the future of our club for any other in world football

agree with this, they have invested to make money and only they will know if mancini is right for their future plans.

What annoys me most is this: A lot of our own support will use the argument that we have spent a huge amount of cash and should therefore expect to take the title this year. Put them in the same room as a rag though and a pound to a penny says they would fight our corner tooth and nail claiming quite rightly that they have done exactly the same in the past. You cant have it both ways...if your argument to a rag is that they have done the same then look at their record and see how they progressed. Wouldnt you be contradicting yourself to expect a speedier return on a similar investment? Some people just have no patience and I really think thats all it boils down to.

this is another great point.

"but with all he spent he should have won it 10 years ago" in Bluemoon language

"Nobody has won the league without spending money, and with inflating utd spent more" in united bashing language.

I'm not sure money is their main motivation to tell you the truth mate, I think it's more exposure of their other business interests, the more successful we are the more exposure for them, it's a win/win situation for all involed

Can't agree with the first bit because businesses need to make money and people like the clubs owners don't invest so much not to get a return.

I read in another thread that they have plans to invest in Manchester and the Northwest, certainly their plans for development at City show that they are in for the long term.

So the OP refers back to when Bacon Face through the lead away to United in 1991-1992 season to Leeds.

I wonder if he'd have thrown it away if he had been given over 200 million to spend (or the equivilant).

If you're going to make direct comparisons then at least do it right. On the plus side, we have made slight progress but in my opinion, with the players we have at our disposal (forget injuries and suspensions) we should have won this league at a canter and should have another trophy to go with it.
Fergie did spend money and money doesn't buy instant success, let's get that straight

I meant making any type of big money return from City, they will make a lot of money from the exposure their other businesses will recieve though, probably should have tried to explain myself a bit better, I could be wrong though, I'm no business whizz
As for the development plans, I think looking at the big picture two words spring to mind, super casino

... we have seen our team play some of the best football they have ever played.
The best football ever played in the league IMO! Imagine what it will be like next season.
