Nope, if we win the league this season then we'll be in pot 1, but that doesn't guarantee as there will be very tough teams in pot 2.Until we actually achieve something in the competition, (Q/F or better?), we'll keep getting tough draws.

Surely a club that has the capabilities and is hell bent on doing well in this competition can get a decent enough backup for when the best striker gets sidelined?

Hardly an excuse given the players Juve lost in the summer, the players we've added and the fact we were at home.Not having your best striker sidelined by a cynical pre-meditated kick to the knee in the previous game would help.
Personally i think we have to drop one of Yaya/Silva in Europe. Shore up the middle, keep pace and width (Sterling and Navas) and either give Yaya free reign behind Aguero or drop him deep and give someone more mobile than Silva (off the ball) the 10 - that could be De Bruyne.
Wont happen and we'll continue to struggle. If we're lucky we might stumble on the right formula with the next generation of players, it certainly won't be tactical acumen.

Coupled with the fact that we always seem to under-perform in Europe. How many outstanding CL performance have we put in in five seasons? Precious few. I get your point but we can't blame anyone for being shit in Europe. Players and Manager need to sort it out.

Be honest with you JH City mystify me in Europe. I keep waiting for us to take off but it just isn't happening.
