Improving in the CL

We've not had a long enough time together to gel as a side and therefore we shouldn't be playing open and expansive football from the get go. Because of the strength of the group, a loss is not only damaging for us but the winning team gets a huge advantage over us.

At 1-0 up it was job done... sit back and force Juventus to try and get into the game. Don't keep playing the attacking football we usually do. Just force Juve to try and break us down and hit them on the counter. It requires a lot more maturity.

I still think overall it was a decent performance and one where we deserved more and failed to take our chances. This is the story of our lives in Europe though and I hope that we really sort things out in the next games. Win the next two and we're back on track but losing the first, and at home is the last thing we should be doing. 1-1 would have been an acceptable result.

You know what, as weird as it sounds I think you are bang on. I think we could really do with a motivational coach of some sorts.

Of course. Ajax, CSKA and such clubs with all due respect are nothing compared to Chelsea for ex. Yet we dominate Chelsea each and every time we meet them in some domestic competition yet we can't do shit against Ajax and CSKA. It's all in head and with all CL shortcomings in recent years, there is huge pressure on everyone so their heads are gone as soon as they enter the pitch on CL game.

We played tenitively at times and didn't utilize are speed very well. Juventus seemed to realize this well into the first half and began to make desperate volleys into the box. And consequently, that what made the difference. As useless as Navas can be, I was surprised Pellers didn't get allow him to go bombing down the right side in the second half. As both Nasri and Sterling were f-cking worthless.

I firmly believe the attitude of the crowd is a big part of our problem in Europe. When I go go to the cl games I can feel the tension. This same tension is not there in the league games. If I can feel it the players definitely can. This will only change in time and is tied in with success in Europe. I know it's a catch 22 situation but the crowd needs to chill and enjoy these games more and the results will follow. I am not worried in the slightest as I know once that tension has gone we will enjoy many years of success.

In the CL it always looks like City is afraid of what the opposition can do (afraid of the unknown). In the PL City doesn't seem to be bothered about the opposition and just believe in what they can do themselves.

Funny thing is; in Europe everybody feares City for the players they have........
