South African teams are very good at quick counter attacking football so will be interesting.
Right you were. Must say I was pleasantly surprised.

Watched a few games in SA recently, and every team plays in a high tempo philosophy. Some fantastic matches, although as seen today, I don't recall seeing a decent goalkeeper. It will interesting to see if any more get scouted over to some Premier/championship clubs.

Khune is good, Joosephs too and even Rowen Fernandez the Supersport goalkeeper. They have a few talented ones in the PSL.

-- Sun Jul 14, 2013 1:59 pm --

I think Kompany is back to the level of the title winning season. Micah bursts are back, If nasri continues he could win the title of best comeback player, Suarez has talent needs to work on physique and sharpness, Fernadinho was tidy, Hart is Hart.

On the other hand, boy Dzeko. Don't know what to add there, I'll give him a pass since it's early days. Kolarov needs to step it up and Razak just isn't a Manchester City level player. We should sell him for the benefit of his career.

I agree with everything except Razak.

I think he has looked fairly good.

Hmmm. I don't know man, I just don't think he's top of the table level quality, he's passing is approximate, his decision making too. Well anyway it's still early days in the pre season too.

So to summarise..All doing ok...bar Dzeko and Kolarov...

nowt new there then really...before anyone jumps on me re these 2..I have had plenty of time watching these 2 to realise they really are not very good..formed my opinion over tge last 2 seasons...

Suarez looks like he passes sideways and back far too often, afraid of making an error.
It looked that way to me too. When he wanted to make a pass forward he seemed to spend a little longer thinking about it and ended up losing it more often.

No forward passing options for him perhaps meant he had to keep the ball / pass it back or sideways ?

This goes to show how desperate we are for another striker to join us.
Dzeko frustrates too much, so we're only left with Sergio. Hope it's
sorted sooner rather than later.

I think Pellegrini has just asked them to go out and do what they 'normally' do. This is so he can see how Mancini had us playing and see what works and what doesn't.

I expect changes to the system / pace to happen before the pre-season games end.

I know it's very very early days but Dzeko is still clueless and still has the worst first touch I've ever seen.

Seems Pelle has already figured out that Nasri is not a winger! He always has so much more impact from the middle, although I think he should be dropped back a little bit to help in midfield.

To some extent, yes, but other players don't seem to be having the issue quite so much. It would be harsh to judge him on it, though, he just needs a bit more game time to get used to his team mates.
