in the bag

I will be glad to see Aguero replacing Tevez, but I will be sad to see Nasri coming to us.

We can do better than Nasri !

Neither do City, thankfully.

Corinthians' bluff will be called in the next 48 hours.

Other bidders will see to it.

As for Mancini's comments today, partly lead by the interviewer, but tellingly, if these two players were so in the bag, there is absolutely no way Mancini would be talking about them in such a candid manner.

He is simply exerting pressure on their respective clubs in a bid to do business, keep the pressure on other targets.

I'd have thought the opposite, that if Mancini was even taking time talking about these players then he must think we have a very good chance of landing them.
mancini was asked about reported interest in Aguero and Nasri. "I don't know the situation but for Nasri it is difficult" doesn't sound too confident to me.

tolmie has said nasri wants to be a city player hasnt he? seems to me the issue with nasri is whether wenger is willing to let him go. wenger knows he's in last chance saloon and has a better chance of winning something this year with nasri in the team

ok i'll bite. what's the significance of the uruguay flag?

im guessing its to do with 6ft6 defender we are supposedly after, Sebastien Coates

You are mistaking me for someone who actually knows something. I'm just cheering on Uruguay tonight in the Copa America.

While I rate Aguero and think he would be a good replacement for Tevez, I have mixed feelings to this because it could well mean Carlos is on his way very shortly and there have been developments on that front, and I'd be very upset to see Tevez leave, no matter who replaces him.

Fantastic news!!!
We loose a great player and replace him with an even greater one. That's the way to do business.

Disagree with you there. I think Aguero would be a success here but not as much as Tevez has been, and, if you asked me who I'd prefer, I'd have to say Tevez. But finding a replacement better than Tevez would be very, very hard.

Interesting how this has come on the same day Mancini publicly declared his interest in Aguero. That makes me more inclined to believe this.

Exactly. Sounds like we have done all we can on that deal.

The way Tolmie explained it, seems right to me, I would even go a step further and say Mancinis comments not only put a bit pressure on the selling clubs, but also on the likes of Cook and Marwood to broker these deals. At the end of the day figures dont mean a jot to Mancini, he wants the players signed, end of.
