In The Last 20 Years.........

So had City lost by a single goal to Spurs and Liverpool your reflection on those games, our performance, our defensive capablities, our resilience, our tactics etc would remain identical to the 3 goal defeats we actually experienced?

I don't reflect on games so it would be a yes I suppose. The title is in City's own hands despite any results we have had, win the games and we win the league, it isn't as though City are 10 points behind.

I don't think it has much relevance to titles

However, It isn't great conceding 4 goals 3 times in the last 20 premier league games when we hadn't done so once in over 250 games previously.

That's that then.

At least now I can book my holidays for May knowing we aren't gonna be in the race for the title.

Hopefully, we'll be safe from relegation come May too.
Don't jump to conclusions.

20 years worth of history suggests that 10% of title winners did suffer 2 such bad defeats.

Book a cottage in the Lake District so you can get back tot he Etihad if you had to.

if the rags and dippers stuff us 4-0 in the return matches , but we win the title , i will take that , long gone are the days when these "Northern powerhouses" were are biggest games , let them live in their past , talking about the 19 titles and 5 champs league , singing nursery rhymes and reminiscing about King Kenny , the future is blue

Another amazing stat is that every single team that has won the league has scored more goals and accumulated more points than anybody else in the league.
-Stefano penkino, the amazing man, 2014.
That stat is wrong,in 1950 in the old 1st division Portsmouth won the league but did not finish with more points than 2nd place Wolves, also they only scored 74 goals Wolves scored 76. -xgorton,tremendous knowledge,2015.

I think it was a joke, as everyone would probably remember city outscoring Chelsea by some distance last season.

So what you are saying is that to lose by 3 goal margins in the space of 7 games to 2 sides who are not likely to be title challengers has no bearing on our capability to be a title winning team ourselves?

You are also saying that 20 years evidence that title winning teams rarely experience that type of crushing defeat has no message in it?

I saying that 'football stats' are more often than not compiled simply to 'proove' the conclusion AFTER the conclusion is made, rather than working on the basis of what these stats actually tell us. Football stats can be manipulated more than most statistics to tell us anything. I wouldn't deposit any faith in football stats as far as I can kick The Etihad.
