Balotelli was paid £400 million an hour until it was time to leave and then strangely he was back to 90 or 100k a week when he was taking a pay cut to go to AC Milan. Strange that isn't it?
What the media write effects me, you and the club in now way whatsoever. I wouldn't bother getting bothered by any of it.chesterguy said:I am disappointed but not surprised how the media deal with our transfers
We are the only club when dealing with transfers have wages included to inflate the number
We then have the recent scenarios
Navas bought for £17m with add-ons which are included in his transfer (but they are only triggered upon certain milestones being reached) and yesterday I read the transfer fee was £27m
Fernandinio bought for £22m with add-on included in his transfer (but they are only triggered upon certain milestones being reached) and yesterday I read the transfer fee was £42m
I have read that City spent £52m up to £58m yesterday for these 2 players. Now I am not sure anyone knows what the figures were but the media line is anything "moneybags" City does has to be inflated so that our success is purely down to money
The only thing I would say is that the people n charge are the ones I trust to get the right deals for the club and whatever they are happy to pay is good enough for me but the media line against City is clear

They write shit; we move from a mid table club to a club in the top 5
They write more shit; we win the FA Cup and qualify for the CL
They write further shit; we win the league
They write more shit still; we get a new CEO, new director of football, start work on the new Academy, get a new manager and a load of new signings making our future brighter than it ever has been and get a new shirt deal with Nike
They still write shit; and it still doesn't effect us in any way. We'll be expanding the stadium, doing better in Europe and winning more silverware in the coming years.
Yet day after day people are still reading newspapers and then moaning about what they're saying about us. I just don't get how people bother with it. We have forums, the OS, and by now we know the handful of journalists worth bothering with so we shouldn't ever have to get wound up by what the rest of them say.
Hamann Pineapple said:I remember talking to a Chelsea fan when we were first taken over. He said then "The trophies are great but be prepared to grow a thick skin" How right he was. It's not going away, get used to it, goes with the territory.
NeilYoungIsBack said:Yes, we are spending big on players now, but we are also investing hugely in the campus, the stadium and the future. No other club is investing so much in infrastructure. It is hugely significant commitment from the club's owners.
This is the real game-changer and is what they (i.e. other fans and the Rag media) should be truly worried about: where we will be in 5-10 years time.
I am really looking forward to their anguish.
