"Influencers"

Pull back the curtain and there you have it.

The trouble is the nature of the platforms and general lack of meaningful regulation means some of them are a menace to society.

Confidence tricksters and shitehawks will always find idiots to scam unforrunately

Fuck me sideways, can there be anything more nauseating or just fucking revolting that seeing some utter, utter, utter talentless twat parading around on Youtube? Er, no.

Case in point, I saw just now some fat and useless **** (name deleted on legal advice) adding the latest Ferrari to his garage of supercars, all paid for by the morons at Google who think it is sensible to excessively reward dickheads for posting drivel on Youtube. You could not make it up.

Get a proper job you turd.
Are you trying to influence others with this post?

Businesses get better value PR out of going viral by publicly calling out these freeloading fuckwits than they do out of giving free stuff to them. More companies should realise this and the lazy vapid twats would have to get real jobs.
Opened my eyes. Doesnt even have to ask for stuff , gets companies just offering stuff

And the goons that are actually 'influenced' by 'em.

Fuck me I am so old lol

What's Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, influencer ?

Is an influencer basically a knobhead doing adverts ?
No that's the point, well mine anyway. The idiots who give them free stuff or their followers are the knobheads. If no one talked about and subscribed to Goldbridges you tube shite he'd be just another Forest fan working at McDonalds. As it is, thanks to a world full of idiots and sad bastards he is making good money pretending to be a rag.
Fair play to him.

It's not their fault. It's the fault of the soft headed numpties that take notice of them.
Agree with that to an extent.

But I also think the likes of Google are completely off their trollies paying people literally millions just because they have a few subscribers and generate a few clicks. These people are rewarded on a level beyond any possible sense.

A slightly different thing (i.e. not an influencer, but nevertheless relevant in the context of how much Google pay out), someone I used to work was paid around £250,000 by Google for 1 video of his kids larking about which happened to get a lock of clicks. Absolutely crackers.

Are you a little jealous that they basically get paid a fortune to live their lives as they see fit, without ever having to enter the rat race?

Not a job I could ever see myself doing, but fair play to these youngsters for cheating the money game & not having to do 50 years of graft

If I was a jealous person, I’d be jealous as fuck

I think there's a bit of a misconception about firstly how much money they make, and secondly, how much work it actually takes. Tiktok pays fuck all, so you basically need a full time operation behind the scenes to get brand deals to make it worthwhile. Youtube pays more, but also typically requires more work on the content, because it's longer form and people expect better quality.

But one thing that Tiktok and Instagram show is just how much of life is based entirely on looks. You scroll through stories and see people doing all sorts of creative stuff. People who have spent hours perfecting a dance, or creating a little comedy sketch. Then some hot girl shows up and literally just stands in front of the camera smiling and spinning around, and bang, 4 million followers. But you still watch so they show you more.

Don’t disagree with any of that. I knew my success in life wasn’t just down to my brains ;)

However, surely how much effort & work it takes depends on how you’ve become an ‘influencer’ in the first place?

And doesn’t how much you get paid correlate to how many followers & views you get?

Not disagreeing with you bud, genuine questions as I have no idea how the industry works

Instagram is the absolute king of “looks”.

It is literally thousands and thousands of Barbie doll birds and stedheads with six packs posting pictures of themselves being hot.

Severe narcissism.

Not sure if they make any coin from it but fuck me it’s mental.

The Daily Mail has been 'influencing' for decades.
Not sure about that. I've never read the daily mail and I'm still a white racist bastard who hates all European people, especially the fat ones and the unemployed whether from Europe or not.
