Wonder if Pep will consider Cancelo as an 8. He’s probably our second most creative player, but probably caused irreconcilable damage to himself here.

Anything is possible. Stones had a brilliant season last time and was for me up there as 1 of the players of the season. That youtube video of his champions league final performance is flippin top drawer.
Not really sure what will happen with Cancelo. He played the charity shield but was that to put him in the shop window? And did he play well?... haven't seen it as working a lot lately.

Seems a shame to spend 60 million on someone on big wages and not utilise them. There's no doubt he has ability..2 pretty good feet and vision...does he have the energy? Hopefully it'll have crossed Pep's mind...in fact I'd be surprised if anything worth thinking about City hasn't crossed Peps mind.
Not sure about what he has caused at City. Everything seems very hush hush at City with regards personal problems which is a good thing...but if he is a bad egg he'll probably be let go. Some fans on here seem to dislike him immensely and point to the fact we won the treble without him as proof he disrupts but I'd give the guy the benefit of the doubt. He went through a huge trauma...being beaten by a gang of robbers in his own home trying to protect his family...my head would be mashed after that as I'm sure him and his family's were. Maybe he and his missus needed a few months break from his gaff.

Strongly doubt it. No minutes the other day against Burnley. Not even on bench. I know that he's supposed to be “away on family matters”, but I can't help suspecting that's Pep-code. It would a decidedly odd decision at this point, when the season has already started, to be away, especially when you're already in a precarious position with your boss.
