Injuries 2024/25 | Ake & Bobb return to training

The club statement wording is not great. If they mean they expect Haaland back this season, and this season excludes the CWC, then that's not that bad an outcome.
Seems like they are waiting to see what the full extent of the damage is when he goes to see a specialist.

My gathering from the statement is he'll be back for the last couple of games of the Premier League, Which would then obviously mean he's fine for the Fifa World Club Cup...As you've said it isn't worded great.

Best case scenario, it's just a grade 1 injury, slight stretching or microtears in one ankle ligament. That's 2-3 weeks.
If its grade 2, a serious tear, sadly that's 6-8 weeks.
Thankfully the OS update seems to rule out a grade 3 (rupture).

Not sure why the club have gone public on this.
Normally Pep keeps the injuries quiet & usually brushes aside questions about players fitness.

I think this season means the PL season. The Club World Cup could be regarded as next season.

The MEN have written an article assuming he is returning towards the end of the PL season.

They might have intended it as reassuring. It's almost April, and they seem to be suggesting he could be back in May which isn't so bad. But the wording is uncertain and the exact prognosis is also uncertain

The club statement reads to me that the CWC includes this season. I’d be surprised if he’s back before then but here’s hoping!

He wasn't out long the last time he sprained his ankle. Back for the big game v Palace I hope.

Wingers getting to the bye line & crossing for Haaland crowded out by 8 players hasn’t helped this season. I liked how we played without them on Sunday & maybe using a false 9 may just help us with bodies in the box.

I’m not saying we are better without Haaland but with so many players out we need to change our play.

I hope us having no back up striker doest’t come back to haunt us.
Marmoush - 15 goals in 17 Bundesliga games. Already has one hatrick for us. Not had enough game time to have pushed on further. He replaced the injured Erling and hey presto - winning goal. He's no false 9 but a genuine no 9 if properly fed. I think O'Reilly might do just that.-

Was one of those awkward challenges with weight falling really unaturally on him with his foot planted, always going to be a sore one, Marmoush as false 9 for a few Months might mix things up a bit...
Marmoush - 15 goals in 17 Bundesliga games. Sounds like a genuine no 9 to me. Not had enough game time to have similar stats for us - yet. His hatrick against Newcastle showed what he can do.

It was only a broken leg, so yeah, he should have been running marathons in December getting fit preparing for playing in January, the lazy ****
He played at least 60 minutes for the EDS just before the international break - therefore he should be appearing on the first team bench any time soon.
