We won two league titles with only Jesus as our striker for the vast majority of the time. We clearly intended to do something similar this year but injuries and Foden's poor form have seen to that plan... A backup striker would've probably been keeping the rest of our attack company in the hospital :)

I think we were showing signs of a stressed squad in the title run in last season. Players were running on fumes well before the end and it was great character that carried us over the line ..It was a slog at the end.
The FA Cup defeat to the scum was partially on the cards before we even turned up drunk.
The non close season was only going to add to the problem of exhausted senior players.
Refreshing a highly successful but ageing core of key players was a huge challenge for the club and one that I believe we ducked . The 115 nonsense plus Peps future may be the distraction that stopped us rebuilding but I think it will bite us in the bum this year.
 
Anyone know what the deal is with Josh Wilson-Esbrand? Still on the squad list but doesn’t appear to be getting a sniff
 
As the most successful club for the last ten years and one that goes deep into every competition, we are now suffering because of it. Add on all the bloody internationals as well and it's just too much football. As a result the players bodies are shot and now we are seeing the result with all these injuries.

The extra 1 % that pep and the players give each season is unmatched in world football.

It’s not sustainable, no one is to blame.

An off season will happen and if we are honest should have happened more often but for pep and the players.

We won’t go quietly but we might not have a choice this season.

It is not a failure in any way.

Most clubs can’t even sustain a title challenge never mind the shit we pull.

They have my full support, the usual wankers will be out in force now to have a dig. Turn it off and enjoy life -:)

We’re top of the league in the PL and sitting pretty in the CL, unbeaten in both competitions for months and months.

A team full of kids and reserves has narrowly lost to a top 6 team away from home in the least important competition we enter.

Let’s not wave the white flag just yet
 
And the powers that be say there isn’t a problem with the volume of games being played.

Early days, he has basically a one year deal, and we are 25% through that.

He was brought back to fit straight in and sadly he looks unrecognizable as a once great player.

Maybe Barca knew what they were doing and their decision was not just down to money.
