Injuries 2024/25 | Kovacic ruled out for a month

Does anyone not see the obvious correlation between the lack of insects these days and our players being injured?

A few years back a butterfly would flap his wings in Singapore and Yaya would go uninjured for a season. Separate events? Don't be silly.

Will KDB be going on international duty next week, if he plays any part in the two games this week?
I wouldn't like to think so.

That goes for a few others who are just back from injury.
No he's already asked to be left out of the November internationals. Think stones will play at least 1 of the next 2 then pull out of the internationals. I'd hope earling would too but can't see that happening.

this injury situation is getting worse not better each game. whats this week, another 3-4 injuries after Sorting and Brighton games?

I think this "higher bar" being set for what constitutes a foul for this season is certainly a contributing factor to all the injuries. More contact being made creating more soft tissue damage at the very least. With the schedule of playing every 3 or 4 days it's not enough recovery time. Doesn't seem to be many people talking about this though.

Agreed.

I understand football is a contact sport and rightly so, I'm all for a tough tackle (not going in to deliberately injure an opponent of course). But common has has to come into play with these officials, The amount of times every weekend our lads get kicked around is absolutely ridiculous.

The worst part of it all is when you see the stats after every game, For example:

Fouls:

Ipswich - 30

Man City - 4

Yellows:

Ipswich - 2

Man City - 3

It's always something along those lines, We make any foul and it's a yellow straight away whilst the opposition can kick lumps out of us and it's fine.

The 'red card' foul on Erling on Saturday is a classic example.

Stroke someone's face ..off you go..try to break their leg..high bar.

Pigmol and Webb are focused on the wrong things !!

Our foul to card ratio will be high because a lot of our fouls are to stop counter attacks, although I do also feel we get more cards than we should and our opponents less

Very true, They are mainly tactical fouls we give away which result in yellows, It's funny though because we get that alot against opportunity and goes unpunished but that's down to the inconsistency of the officials.

I've lost count as sure along with many others being at games finding yourself saying "Is he going to book him yet?" after his 6th foul in 20 minutes! :-)

Yesterday is actually a good example too, Ugarte made a bad foul on the halfway line to try and stop a counter but the ref played advantage and when the game stopped he didn't book Ugarte, Ugarte eventually got booked in the second half and had made 6 fouls (after his yellow) and stayed on the pitch.

It being the best league in the world, The officiating is possibly one of the worst unfortunately.
