Injuries 2025/26 | Gvardiol tibia fracture (p59) Dias 4-6 weeks (p70)

Might be my blue tinted spectacles but we don’t seem to get much protection from referees - both Sunderland and Chelsea kicked lumps out of us and neither referee seemed to bothered to brandish any cards - which would stop it until very late in the game. The first time a City player puts a tackle in there’s a card - compare that to Reece James on Sunday could have had 4 cards before he got one.

Treading on someone’s Achilles doesn’t break a leg half an hour later.
That may be true, but repeated trauma will have unforeseen consequences. Sometimes in different areas. Falling awkwardly, overcompensating, a number of different ways.

Speaking from personal experience with multiple injuries. So take that with a grain of salt if you want. Regardless, Oliver should have given the players more protection.

Ok you have provided figures whereas I wasn't able to .

For what ever reason, the club let Akanji go, and he's no longer here.

So whether he was fit enough to play or not, is academic because he isn't here.

If you are saying that the manager or club made the wrong decision, that's fine.

But he isn't here now so irrelevent to the current situation , but you are clearly very knowledgeable.
Its not irrelevant. Its the crux of the shit show we are now in!!

4-6 weeks with Pep usually means 8-12 weeks. It could be April before we see Ruben back ffs.

What a fucking mess, what fucking luck eh? Still in all 4 comps and lose 3 of our starting CBs.

Honestly I love Stones but can't wait to see the liability gone and replaced with somebody who's available.

Guehi or somebody has to come in we simply can't rely on Khusanov and another injury prone Ake as well as some kid from the youth.

Luckily we have a decent gap to 5th place because we could go on a seriously bad run with the fixtures we have coming up.

In City & Pep we trust.
Im not slagging you off but i dont get when fans talk about youth players as if they cannot make the grade before we have seen them. Foden has made it, Rico is a squad player, Nico is 1st choice left back so why can another academy player not come in and be a star. Surely its just as easy to say he will or can make a go of it rather than he wont or cant? Its what they do...play football 6 times a week....train hard...this lad from watford just played 17 games on the trot for a team in the play off places which could be a similar standard to Wolves, West ham & Burnley. If Pep thinks he's not up to it why recall him? Tosin played once or twice for us but now starts often for Chelsea. We do need another though as 3 isnt enough with our schedule. Up the blues.

Such a positive post, you've even gone with a worst case scenario in the first paragraph without even knowing the reality just to add more doom and gloom. Well done fella ;-)

As supporters we all too often, witness the different treatments that other team benefit from when playing against City.

Some might say it is an unfortunate coincidence, but many of us believe that it is far more clear and sinister than that.

We clearly aren't appreciated by the PL, and as the paymasters for PIGMOL it isn't too much of a stretch to believe that this feeling carries through to that particular body.

Of course, the likes of Howard Webb would stringently deny such bias, but how much credibility does he deserve from the evidence of his role in post ?

The club are being targeted and the players are victims of the bias.

Micheal Oliver couldn't have made it any clearer on Sunday.

Didn't say he couldn't make it only that it would be a risk. He maybe good, hopefully he is but like I said we can't cope with an injury prone Ake, Khusanov and an unproven kids from the youth in 4 competitions.

That was one game though. I’m not talking about rotating the entire team either. For instance maybe Dias doesn’t need to start every game.

If the squad players aren’t good enough then we’ve wasted a huge amount of money. Surely players like Khusanov or Lewis could start a few more games here and there
Agree, one or two, three at most we can probably handle,so long as those rested are on the bench if needed.
