Injuries 2025/26 | Kovacic could be ruled out for further 3-4 months (p37)

I didn't want him to play against Arsenal. once we made the dumb decision to play him against Napoli.

Thats why i didn't put him on my Arsenal hopeful lineup to some derision.

Just a dumb move to play him 3 times in one week...

Let's hope it doesn't cost us long-term... :(

I was shocked that Pep was that short-sighted. I understand fans thinking In Football Manager mode. But any 2 pence Manager talk less the best ever, should have known better.

That was a ridiculous decision last week.
It was Napoli for me, I reckon he’d have managed with a game on one Sunday (derby) and a game a week later on the next Sunday (Arsenal) and then a week+half off until Monaco.

The news came from the end of Pep's post-match press conference (embargoed section) which you can watch on mancity.com.

It may just be a question of being careful with Rodri's rehab. The nature of the problem was not explained. I expect there will be follow-up questions at the next press-conference.

One year since he had the op, if you ask Dr Google none of the possible causes of pain sound good, not good at all. It would be 'better' if he'd taken a minor knock on his knee to explain the pain. If he hasn't, then 'unexpected pain' is a serious red flag. Dr Google has been known to talk shite, fingers crossed, he's OK. However if Rodri takes a flight to Barcelona instead of Monaco then we know it's serious.

It's nothing serious if Rodri travels with the team. It's obvious he needs time to get back to full fitness. Playing him against Burnley was pointless. Imo, he would have played if it was Liverpool.

Its not a surprise after being out so long with a major knee injury & I felt he was ahead of schedule. Hopefully it's only precautionary

He does have two knees. Something not considered yet.

He suffered meniscus damage as well as an ACL rupture. The meniscus injury will have been repaired at surgery.
Just hope his meniscus repair hasn’t failed.
Fingers and everything else crossed.
