Injuries 2025/26 | Kovacic could be ruled out for further 3-4 months (p37)

So Marmoush, Kushanov, RAN and Cherki out…..these new signings are lightweight! ;-)
Nah...its a ploy...they're in the Mcfc finishing school...all new signings have to learn the extra 5% of quality control needed to snatch titles from the jaws of defeat...Aguero passed with a distinction...100%..top of the class..re-wrote the text book....Gundogan followed it up with 2 late ones versus Villa. To be continued....

I know it happened during the internationals, but what is Marmoush injury and when is he expected back?
He damaged a knee ligament whilst playing for Egypt. I think he will be back after the international break.

I agree with this.

Can we get 90 points ? No, but neither can the dippers or Arsenal. We’ve added the best goalie in the league to a squad that contains the two best players in the league, Rodri and Erling. If they stay fit we can stay in the hunt
Liverpool only need 6 more points than last season to get 90 points.

They drew 9 games last season, which is a lot for winning the title (nobody has drawn that many games when winning the league since Leicester). They seem to be staying calmer and more patient late in games this season, and not getting desperate. That’s why they’re winning games late on. Last season they probably would have drawn a few of the games they’ve ended up winning this season.

They finished 25-9-4 last season. It’s not that far fetched to say they’ll finish 28-6-4 this season.

Depending on injuries, I can see us taking huge strides on last season’s 71 points. But I can’t see us threatening Liverpool, I don’t even think Arsenal will, and they have a deeper squad than Liverpool.

One thing about Liverpool is that their key players rarely pick up muscle injuries. van Dijk’s only sustained period of missing double-figure-amount of games was when he did his cruciates. Other than that the most he’s ever missed in a season is 7 games (hamstring the season after he did his crutiates), and outside getting Covid (missed 3 games with that), he’s either missed 2, 1 or 0 games a season in the 6 other seasons at Lpool.

Imagine if Stones (or Kompany before him who was also incredibly injury prone) had an injury record like that!

You could argue those 3 players are best in the world in their positions when on form.

The spine is quite good. We don’t have a CB in that category at the moment though

Gvardiol isn’t far off.

He’s still only 23, which is so young for a CB.

By the time he hits his prime, he’ll be up there with the best CBs in the world.

Oh FFS... hope you are wrong in this case..

A massive mistake since we need to bed in a new generation of younger players, not block their progress to the first team!
You can't get rid of everyone.

Kova doesn't look out of place in our team unlike some others.

We won things in the past (Only a year ago) by having experienced players we brought in and thy flourished. Apart from Phil and FFS Lewis we haven't hammered the team with players that have been brought through the system.

We shouldn't change that at all we are not Barcelona who have an easy 15 or so games a season and can play their academy (Stolen academy mostly) players against poor sides.

If they did that in the premier league they'd be facing relegation.

I didn't want him to play against Arsenal. once we made the dumb decision to play him against Napoli.

Thats why i didn't put him on my Arsenal hopeful lineup to some derision.

Just a dumb move to play him 3 times in one week...

Let's hope it doesn't cost us long-term... :(

I was shocked that Pep was that short-sighted. I understand fans thinking In Football Manager mode. But any 2 pence Manager talk less the best ever, should have known better.

That was a ridiculous decision last week.
