Injuries.

In my mind there's no doubt about it that it's something to do with the training methods under Pellegrini all these muscle injuries

If that was the case you would have thought that not only MP but many others would have addressed that situation by now to minimise the opportunity for it reoccurring to those most at risk.

No manager wants to employ methods that increase the likelihood that those like Kun , VK , Delph and others will have less time on the pitch than would otherwise be the case.

How is it possible that MP's training methods are to blame, for injuries picked up during matches at international level ? Delph, Aguero, Silva were all injured playing for their countries, I'm surprised Txiki isn't being blamed as well.

I'm not trying to support the poster's argument that "it's MPs training methods fault", we just don't know. However Delph and Sergio both pulled their hamstrings with the club before they went to play for their country and Silva's injury is not a muscle one.

I think its worth re-examining our training, stretching/warm up regimes to see if we are using best possible practice to avoid such injuries. We do seem to have a very proportion of hamstring injuries compared to other PL clubs.

I personally think that the club have got the best doctors and physios that money can buy and the best medical minds advising them on player treatment, recovery, etc. I'm sure they are constantly examining their own work. Not sure that a few injuries on International duty requires a root and branch investigation though!

Could be worse. Gladbach lost their best three players to cruciate injuries unless i'm mistaken. All on international duty. That's fucking unlucky.

Like you it amazes me that people think we have some second rate medical team working at the club.

None of us (unless you work as part of it) know the first thing about how our medical staff operate, or what credentials they have, but to even think that club haven't bothered to get the best they can is just foolish.

Really - I put Sergio's literally down to having no rest for the last 3 years, traveling loads, Playing high intensity. Could be loads of reasons. Nowadays players will get more muscle injuries due to muscle fatigue from playing more football at high intensity and less recovery time

Liverpool have just lost Ings and Gomez for the season with cruciate injuries too.

I'm not even sure why I'm posting this.. but I can't remember our last seriously long term absentee who's a regular.

Sorry in advance.

Ah Clichy yes but in comparison to others I don't think we do bad.

Just shed loads of muscle injuries.

This international break has seen a huge number of injuries to Premier League players, seems across the board as well, can't see a club who haven't suffered. Although early in the season it has to spark the debate on too many games once more. Premier League cut to 18 teams anyone?

That's a shame. Wonder if it is at Liverpool training or England duty. Klopp has very high intensity based methods - Sturridge next maybe
First training session with Klopp.
Think he's a great manager & his style is great, but saw something about Liverpool played 40% more matches than Dortmund last season? And everyone knows the injury crisis that occurred regularly under Klopp at Dortmund - will be interesting if a theme of injuries/fatigue kicks in at Liverpool and if Klopp can adjust his style if that does happen.
