Injuries.

Anybody else see the training gallery today on the OS? Pic of Yaya doing gym work but didn't seem to be in the group photo later on. No sign of Kolarov at all. Nasri and Delph in boots so must be doing some ball work at this stage. Worryingly Fernando seemed to have flip-flops on which would suggest he may have picked up an injury also. Hope I'm wrong.
Maybe Fernando was done for the day and was off to get a shower. ...

Sometimes it seems that our club feels and acts like it doesn't belong among the elite despite our achievements in recent years. And it's a mindset that developed early in the takeover. Can still be seen in our lack of foot down approach to our players and international football...Or just allowing them to do what they want in general(Tevez, Balotelli). Like our best players are doing us a favour by playing for us
This mindset can trickle down to the squad as evident in our champions league performances?
I think city encourage and support players to play for their country. It gives the club exposure in many countries.Belgians,Argentinians etc,all looking to find out more about us.
It doesn't come cheap though, injuries and in the case of the African contingent, a month away,mid- season.I don't expect city to complain just yet,at least in public.

Tevez and Balotelli might have thought they could do what they want, but the club managed it pretty well.we stopped paying Tevez and got him back with no fuss, when we were desperate for a change of plan.
Balotelli pushed his luck and his city career is over.

The players won't say out aloud, that they are the best in the world, but they will believe they are, they don't need the club to tell them that.

Yeah, wearing flip-flops after pulling a hammy reduces the strain by 60% i'm told.

I want players who are proud to represent their countries and are willing to give 100% to the national cause, at least when there are World or continental finals to qualify for, but I will not accept that a player should give 110% to his country and a maximum of 100% to the club, and I certainly will not respect a player who turns out for his country when he knows he is taking a risk with his fitness by doing just that. International managers don't have too many games to save their skins and if a player who was unfit at the start of the weekend, and played, and returns to the club carrying the same injury, then some redress should be sought.

As it happens, City's injury record since Pellegrini got his job has been woeful, internationals or not, and if we miss out on trophies through lack of fit players then Pellegrini will be under pressure from those above and his pleas are likely to be ignored.

It'd be a major blow if Fernando was injured again, but seeing him in flip flops is a bit of a cause for concern. This Friday's press conference will be interesting, if only to get an update on who is actually available at the moment.

Perhaps we've postponed Friday's under 18s game so that they can play on Saturday instead
