Injuries.

It's not an assumption and you can't say its stupid because you don't agree with it, look at our injury record, are you telling me we have 15 injury prone players? Bony went 2 season's at Swansea rarely picking up injuries, comes to us and picks up nothing but hamstring injuries for 1 and a half years...... Look back at Mancini's era and he publicly came out and questioned/criticized the medical team as to why so many players were constantly getting injured.

Bony's not even been at the club 12 months mate, the first injury he picked up was at the ACON so that can't be down to our medical staff, he then picked up some sort of virus/bug in preseason so couldn't travel, again nothing to do with our medical staff. The injuries he's picked up since I'm not sure about, where did you hear they were hamstring injuries btw?

As for Mancini, in the 2012 season we had I think the best injury record in the league when Phil Batty was our head doctor, Mancini had him booted out and replaced with his own doc, we then had a raft of injuries in Mancini's final year so it's a bit rich for him to be complaining about the medical staff.

We are in a difficult situation defensively. Zabaleta has been to South America where he played twice after only just returning from injury. Do we then force him to play left back? If we lose him or Sagna we have no cover at right back either. Defensively, Kompany can get another 60 minutes and be closer to full fitness and we then have four fully fit centre backs. Big decision for Pellegrini.

Hart
Sagna Kompany Otamendi Zabaleta
Navas Fernando Toure Nasri
De Bruyne
Bony

Go with that v Bournemouth as Fernandinho is one away from suspension, then bring him in for the Derby.

Right now with those options I'd take 4 points from both games but I certainly believe we have the quality/cutting edge to win both

For many players, it's country before club and maybe some of them are going to give that bit extra whereas they wouldn't take the same risk for their clubs. This is more relevant where their countries are involved in qualifiers for major tournaments, and managers such as Wilmot (for example) may need the players friendship as much as the players patriotism. I have no proof that this is something that happens but no one needs to be a rocket scientist to suspect that it might. After all, there have been enough examples of club managers suspecting this and have made every attempt to prevent their own players joining up with national squads.

Left side problems on the horizon! We need Zaba to have a solid game at LB but he will be less effective going forward from LB. Having two right footers on the left is also a problem as it could look quit enarrow in attack. We could do with an out an out Left Winger to give the side some natural balace.

I wouldn't play Mangala at LB, I dont think it would play to his strengths.

Why not. He spends enough time there covering Kolarov when he's off elsewhere.

Unless you actually have evidence its an assumption. Do you care to comment on my argument that our owners would not cheap out on our medical staff?

Please don't let facts get in the way of a good story.
