Injury Updates

Strange that City have suffered more than Liverpool, despite a less strenuous period (Chelsea aside), when we were seemingly rotating and resting certain players.

Ironically, during the same period, Liverpool have played a Merseyside derby and two huge Champions League fixtures, yet somehow experienced their one bad injury in the only fixture where they rotated.

More worrying is City losing their biggest asset for such a long period, coinciding with Liverpool gathering momentum from an impressive transfer window, and late goals against Chelsea and Everton.

In an ideal world, the situation will soon reverse, but I remember people saying the same thing when Leicester won the League.
Good post

we do have an injury crisis and coming up is the time when injuries start piling up, we have a pre pile up - pile up !

don't like to think of the line up against Liverpool, and if we do have a couple of players back they are lacking game time.

Looking at injuries over 4 yrs doesn't show how much better our injury record has been under pep,not all injury days out are injuries, some are illness and you can't help it if someone goes out to cripple you as they do our players, muscle injuries are different to other injuries, vinny was injury prone through muscle injuries, that is injury prone not if someone lands or twists your knee or in daves case constant kicks on his ankle

We'll have a different perception in 2-3 weeks when De Bruyne, Aguero and Silva return. We just have to get through 2-3 games first.

I think even with injuries we'll get what we need against Hoffenheim and Everton.

The game that worries me a bit is Leicester - League Cup Q/F. I think they will be well up for that.
I agree, I assume Pep will play Muric in that one

Dave has done his hamstring so more than 3 weeks,i think we should play the kids in the cup game

League - obv need to get back to the top and preferably before our game with Liverpool:

Our fixtures:
Everton
Palace
Leicester
Southampton

Liverpools:
United
Wolves
Newcastle
Arsenal

If they come through that with 9 points or more then we have a legit fight. If they falter and drop 6 points and we reply with wins in all 4 (tough too). The fixture between us and them can takes on a great chance to go 8 points clear. Aguero and KDB are key though. I have a feeling They'll be level points with us (2nd on GD) on the day of the game. Just a hunch

Totally agree. Bigger fish to fry this year. Need everyone fit for the 2nd half of the season and that game next week is just one too many at the moment. 5/6 youngsters would be fine by me in that.

If injuries continue to mount up, I wonder if our transfer plans (or lack of) will change during the upcoming window.

Given Fernandinho’s age, it’s a risky ploy to rely so heavily on him throughout the season.
