The fact we couldn't keep hold of the ball when we weren't outrunning the opposition like in the last 25 minutes suggest we missed him a lot.

He does that job really well. We form the U shape around the opposition box, and he passes it 10 times a minute, helps win it back if we lose it, helps us regain that shape if the ball is cleared.

David Silva did it as well, and had much more to his game, but Gundogan does play a big role in that possession game and that's why Pep plays him.

The Gundogan debate is incredibly tiring when people like you refuse to believe that Guardiola can evaluate his own players. Either you believe Pep picks him because he does something none of the other options do, or you can believe the manager is just a fucking moron who deliberately picks a player who doesn't help the side do anything.
It puzzles the fuck out of me why Pep continues to pick him, because he has no mobility/athleticism or bite,he very rarely wins the ball back because play passes him by,and he has no power of recovery,he really is useless as a CDM.

He would be far better higher up the pitch where his ability to hurt players with a pass and an eye for a goal would be useful.

The (late) introduction of Bernardo and Dinho quickly redressed the balance, their workrate and press being key,and something they are far better at doing than Gundogan.

I suppose yu are talking about Gundo. Check the stats for the last season who has the highest number of interceptions, Fern - no, Rodri - no, KdB - definitely no, and you must really be shit when Klopp rated you, when Pep has been rating you, when the German national manager rates you.

Stats are great, except they mean very little much of the time.If they did,our possession stats would mean we hardly ever lose a game.

As a CDM i don't rate him, certainly not in the bracket we need.

We will be struggling to find someone to play as a C.F, if Raheem isn't fit for the Arsenal game. Plus we won't know if any of the players come back carrying any injuries. Should any player come back injured. We will be struggling to field a strong enough squad to give Arsenal a game.

Under 18-s don’t have a fixture so it’s just a training camp for Delap

Yeah, yeah, yeah......but apart from all that, what has he done for us???

Cancelo played full 90 mins for Portugal last night.

Aguero and Gundogan back in training.

Not sure about Jesus and Zinchenko but doubt they're far off.
