But then you're handing out punishment based on the severity of the injury which is not how things should be. Do you start handing out reds for innocuous challenges that are barely fouls but the players ankle gets stuck in the ground as he falls and he's out for months? For me it is a red. I know in most cases the player gets up and plays on. In that case a yellow is fine. But I think VAR should have advised ref to give a red. It was clear to see the deep purple swelling on his face indicative of a severe blow to the head. It's arguably worse than a 2 footed challenge on the legs. Head injury is far more dangerous, and can seriously threaten a player's health.
That’s trademark Rudiger. He’s one of the nastiest sly bastards in the game. A dirty, cheating **** of the highest order.I don’t know based on the rule book if it was a red or not, I’m not an expert and I’m not someone who obsesses over these types of things. However attempting to deceive the referee by feigning a head injury is about as unsporting as it can possibly get

It's a yellow card offence, the injury to kev is deeply unfortunate but it doesn't change the punishment.

This is a good angle of the incident. I just can’t help but feel like that’s a blatant red. Nowhere near the ball, deliberate and reckless. Very poor refereeing decision. A red card could’ve changed the game.
