Yes I'm sure Martinez and Belgium don't give a fuck about their best player being seriously injured a year before the world cup.

Theres nothing here but the usual conspiracy nonsense about a manager this place has detested since 2013.

facts are Kdb said he add an injury strapped it up got an injection and played! yep he got through the game he did limp later in the game.. playing with any injury isn’t wise Kdb did for the team and love of Belgium. 100% city would not play him with an injury like he has!

And i would think, City was involved in the decision to allow him to play. Perhaps not the final word, but if they'd expressed their veto, I doubt he would have played.

I can totally understand Martinez’s decision to play him.

Best player, against the best team, in a knockout competition.

It doesnt work like that for us ,if you are a rag or dipper then you can , playing on ankle ligament injury can set you up for a long period of niggles , i broke my ankle and tore all the ligaments , it still swells up two years after , the physio says it is to be expected

A lot of people in here having very strong opinions about a medical decision they know literally nothing about.

KDB & the Belgian medical staff know exactly how much damage there was, how likely it was to get worse, and what the ramifications of that would be.

No one else does, so anyone passing judgement from a position of complete ignorance on their decision taken with all the information to hand is bizarre to me.
We do know something about it though. He said it was a miracle he played as there’s a tear, “but I felt responsibility to play for my country today”. The “but” there reveals that the injury has not healed yet, that it was a risk and that but for it being the Euros, he would absolutely not have played. You don’t need to be their chief medic to know that a risk was taken that wouldn’t normally have been. Kev spelled that out in his quotes. If he hadn’t said anything then yeah, any strong criticism would have been wild assumption, but this isn’t.

Unfortunately, for me, as KDB has grown in ability, so too, has he become more prone to injury.

KDB is the glass Beckham - able to bend the ball and place it on a dime where no other player can - but is made of glass. Injured time-and-again.
