Injury Updates

I didn't have you down as being naive, but if you don't think manager's including Pep don't lie or are liberal with the truth when discussing injuries or tactics with the press, you are.
I can’t think Pep was pulling a flanker and was telling the truth at the same time now can I?

If I remember correctly you were saying you had heard that Walker was definitely out for the season whereas Pep said he was getting better and had a chance.

I chose to believe Pep and a number of journalists said both Stones and Walker had fitness tests yesterday. If that’s true it doesn’t sound like Walker won’t play again this season. We will have to see.

As for Pep I genuinely think he doesn’t purposely lie about injuries as he trusts the system over individuals which is quite unusual.

Stones was holding his hamstring so obviously too soon. I can only ever remember zaba recovering from a hamstring injury in 7 days! Best he can hope for is 2-3 weeks & be fit for West Ham onwards. Walker I’m not convinced trained on Monday, he was with his mate Dele Ali enjoying the hospitality last night & took very little interest in the game.

You do realise I’m not Pep?

I actually said Pep doesn’t lie about injuries and I don’t think he did.

They both trained yesterday so I’m still not going along with Walker is definitely out for the season.

As for Stones Pep took the gamble and I think he was right to do so given all the circumstances.

No point in having a fully fit squad if you are out of all the competitions.
Did Walker train yesterday? Fantastic news if that's true.

Those begging for john to start got their wish and he was clearly not fit , well done , hope he is not out for the rest of the season
Why have you written this like the people who wanted Stones to start had any say over what the first XI was going to be last night? Pep thought Stones was ready, Stones himself thought he was ready. Turns out he wasn't, these things happen. But people hoping that one of our best defenders was fit enough to play in a Champions League semi-final are hardly the people to be pointing the finger at.
