Surely that's simply because there's no story when it works?History is littered with stories of managers risking semi fit players and it back firing. From Ronaldo in 1994, Kane in the CL final right through to Stones and Alaba last week. I can remember tonnes of times players being risked, I can't remember one that actually worked. All the developments in the game and yet clubs keep gambling.
Personally I think this is bluster and Walker won't be seen this season, if it not be prepared to be hearing about plenty of hindsight.
If Stones had made it through the match last week, then he's just another player coming back after a minor injury. Nothing to remember.
It's only when the players coming back break down that we realise they weren't fully fit, but there must be regular situations where a player comes back a little early but makes it through a game.
