This is my only gripe with Pep,Riley could have experience now if he'd been given game time during the season, he's been on the bench what seems lots of times but even if coasting he's not given minutes...and yes I know there's always a Madrid collapse around the corner in any game but 15 mins at the right time would have done everybody a bit of good, same with Mbete too.
I agree. We should know more about our young players ability to cope in the team but its obvious Pep doesn't trust some of them to get a few minutes, even when a game is won they sit on the bench as unused subs. Must be so frustrating for them..

We are the champions of England for a reason, because we know how to win a title and sadly that means you can't throw kids into the mix.

Experience is what is required, especially with 3 games to go.

Sunday was a magnificent result and performance considering the horrible defeat in Madrid, we won yesterday because of our incredible mental strength, don't under estimate how difficult that performance was.

We have no natural left back at the club (Zinc is a midfielder filling in), we have 2 right backs (Cancelo played well at left back early on, but been very average of late) and 4 centre halfs. Clearly unbalanced at the back and needs fixing for next season. At least one full back (left) required.

Midfield is better but Dinho is leaving so will need a body there and we have no real strikers of note at the club, looks like we will address that with Alvarez/Haaland in the summer. Compare us upfront to Liverpool who have Salah/Mane/Frimino/Jota/Diaz/Origi/Minamino as options and we are currently well behind them here imo…

Our first team squad list is 4 or 5 players smaller than all our rivals as well as unbalanced in certain areas (fullback/upfront)…
Can’t agree we are 4 or 5 players short, the squad has been fine but the Kane saga fucked us over to get an out and out striker. The Dippers do it a different way but Pep doesn’t play like they do and he’s not too bad at his job.

Also, Origi and Minamino? Cole Palmer is better than those two average players.

To bring in more players who would you get rid off? No point in having back ups that are not up to the task so quality players will cost fortunes in signing on fees and wages, FFP says that’s not possible. As for no natural left back, well we had one but he didn’t live up to expectations and there was no selling him due to his ongoing situation.

All Managers have to utilise the squad the best they can, ours is doing pretty well, no complaints from me.

There is space in the squad with Aguero going last summer and then Torres in the winter. He who shall not be named also languishing under HMPs custody. I can understand why they are considering Pogba now to get the depth back into the numbers, plus I think he is classed as home grown. We can’t go into next season with two keepers sat on the bench.

Really bad news where as Liverpool don't seem to get any at the moment.

Don't get me wrong I don't and it was date I say a massive result but you & I know there's maybe 10-12 games a season where putting a youngster on particularly knowing our core squad is smaller than all the top teams would ultimately give us just a little bit of insurance when we get to the crunch part of the season.

I disagree. There have been plenty of games our youngsters could have been brought on when we've been 2 or 3 goals up. Only Pep knows why he mostly chooses to bring on an established first teamer instead of giving a young player valuable first team minutes to gain confidence and experience.

Aguero’s wages would have been equivalent to Jack Grealish earnings, there were several “outs” that generated transfer income so we probably spent about 50m net. The Torres cash will be about 25m after his initial fee has been amortised and cleared from the books plus Ferdy going, rumours of Gundo leaving and Sterling may go for a cut down fee.

I agree with Bluearmy we do need a fullback and I also think a powerful midfielder is a priority and of course I’m hoping the Haaland deal is done plus hopefully Alavarez makes the grade. I’m hoping Jesus stays as his forte is playing wide and Cole Palmer could be a fantastic player.

Not a squad overall just 3 or 4 solid signings.

Rodri has played some minutes this season, Fernandinho has been an excellent servant however the drop off when Rodri doesn’t play is huge. We need another defensive mid to come in to cover. We had £130 million ring fenced for Kane so there will be money to spend, things will start evolving again in how we play. Having a striker will be a novelty after playing with a false 9 for nearly two years.
