I wonder if our conditions of sale to Saints prevented the resale to Chelsea so soon? We supposedly have first option to buy Lavia back for £40mil.

Has to be a question mark over this purchase from a medical perspective. I also remain to be convinced he can fill in adequately when he actually gets on the pitch.

Get the operation done , if we can get him back fully fit in the new year it is a bonus and great for a busy run-in , he is a decent player and has proved it at international level , unfortunate he has recurring injury but he has a four year contract so lets get the lad right and then judge him.

We've got to allow our medical team to get him fit first and see whether he still breaks down from a light jog before we start writing him off as a crock.

Frustrating right now that he's unavailable when minutes are there for him, with Rodri being carded early and the game as good as done, he could have had at least 30 minutes if not a full half today. Missing England duty isn't a bad thing if it gets him sorted.

We must of been desperate for another english player because anyone could see he had a problem from last season yet he passed a medical. It’s not a surprise to anyone that he has hardly been fit.
