Insect bites

i was told that once you are bitten that's it, you're fucked for life.
there's some sort of odour left in your skin that says to other mozzies "there's a good meal here".
LOL that's rubbish, I used to get bitten all the time when much younger, very rarely now, and no real idea why, I drink more wine, maybe they no longer like my blood.

That said, I did get a bite that drew blood at the weekend, and hurt too, in Mid Wales at a glamping site, so not totally immune.

That's not good for you, or the biting fuckers either ;-)
what's not good for me, doctor c?

drinking good quality alcohol is not the same as the quanker boozers who neck all sorts of cheap shite.

the liver and kidneys adore high class grapejuice.
guardiola drinks at least one bockle a night.
gundogan's up there with him.

my mate's greek grandad died a few months ago aged 95.
the only liquid he consumed was decent red wine.
(he claimed that water makes you rusty inside hahaha)

all things considered,
i'd hazard the mozzies that hound me have a good palette

You give me hope, thanks, I mostly drink good quality red wine these days.

Was he still in Greece ? If so, I doubt most of it was decent (from my fairly limited experience of greek wine anyway).

Perhaps you drink more gin and tonic these days?

When I first came to Oz I got a few bites especially if I was outside at dusk, then after a couple of months they stopped biting me, my doc told me that your body builds up a resistance to them.

Just asked my nursey wife and she said the best thing for bites is hydrocortisone cream which reduces inflammation and stops the itch.

Another one is Anthisan cream which has antihistamine in it to reduce the inflammation and stop the itching.

I was going to say something in this thread a few weeks ago saying I still have a horsefly bite scar on my foot from 4-5 years ago. And then today I got bit by a horsefly today on my inside forearm. It is golf ball size.
