Inter Milan (N) | Champions League Final | Post Match Thread

The game is a hard one to sum up, we felt the Italian vibes very very hard. I thought Inter were fantastic actually, they were lacking the quality to do us over but let's be honest, Lukaku fucked it up royally for them and we're looking at penalties.

We dug really deep, great effort all over the park and Eddie waits for the big one to pull out his biggest performance.
good post that.

And I think all those Dads were standing next to Dias last night, blowing the ball past the post because I’ve got no other idea how Dias managed to, in a nano-second and from point blank range, twist his neck to such an angle as to accurately direct the ball away from goal, other than the supernatural…

To be honest, the Dias clearance was at least as good as Ederson's save. I initially thought it was an own goal, couldn't see how it hadn't gone in at that speed. Incredible reactions and must have been very close to the post.

At times like these you realise how intricately football is linked with family and memories of a certain time.

Last night reminded me of being at Wembley with my Dad for the Gillingham game, before his memory problems kicked in, and then being at my Dad's house with my lad for the Agueroooo moment which finally erasied the nagging feeling of guilt for having got him into supporting City and a potential life of disappointment. Also going right back to being a kid myself at Maine Road a myself when my dad took us in the era of Franny Lee, Colin Bell, Joe Royle and Rodney Marsh and Peter Barnes.

Football is part of your family and that's why geo politics and all the crap about sports-washing and 115 charges from fucking cheeky egotistical poncey Guardian journalists like Delooney mean absolutely bugger all to City fans. It's about family and it was great to hear Jack and Erling and the players talk about their families at that moment of triumph.

Who the heck is Alyson Rudd when they are at home? Ms/Mr Knownothing?

I genuinely don’t know but don’t fret Google is my friend! :-)
She’s a journalist who only started following football a few months before she became a football journalist. Bizarre job to go into when she had no interest in it before doing it and only repeats things she hears and reads from pro-Liverpool/United backgrounds. She writes like her sole research comes from Liverpool and United Wikipedia pages and you can tell she’s not a proper footy fan.
