Inter Milan (N) | Champions League Final | Post Match Thread

Wow! Still can’t quite comprehend it, finally that monkey off our back!!

I’m so happy for Pep and the players, they‘ve deserved that for bloody years and now finally we win it. And what a superb strike from Rodri! And Ederson, bloody hell those saves at the end.

Legends, every one of our players, fucking amazing.

Not only that, but CITY ARE TREBLE WINNERS! Drink that in.

To be honest, the Dias clearance was at least as good as Ederson's save. I initially thought it was an own goal, couldn't see how it hadn't gone in at that speed. Incredible reactions and must have been very close to the post.

At times like these you realise how intricately football is linked with family and memories of a certain time.

Last night reminded me of being at Wembley with my Dad for the Gillingham game, before his memory problems kicked in, and then being at my Dad's house with my lad for the Agueroooo moment which finally erasied the nagging feeling of guilt for having got him into supporting City and a potential life of disappointment. Also going right back to being a kid myself at Maine Road a myself when my dad took us in the era of Franny Lee, Colin Bell, Joe Royle and Rodney Marsh and Peter Barnes.

Football is part of your family and that's why geo politics and all the crap about sports-washing and 115 charges from fucking cheeky egotistical poncey Guardian journalists like Delooney mean absolutely bugger all to City fans. It's about family and it was great to hear Jack and Erling and the players talk about their families at that moment of triumph.
Great Post, proper got me that did. Thanks blue for summing it up for me, spot on.

And I think all those Dads were standing next to Dias last night, blowing the ball past the post because I’ve got no other idea how Dias managed to, in a nano-second and from point blank range, twist his neck to such an angle as to accurately direct the ball away from goal, other than the supernatural…

Dias is a god amongst defenders. Absolute beast. Fantastic attitude - none shall pass. Fucking love him.

Fucking ell I thought it was an OG and couldn’t believe it had somehow stayed out. The margins between success and failure are wafer thin. The Gillingham game, “shall we go?” at 0-2, decided to stay. 2012, how could we fuck this up? Will we ever get another chance. Dzeko and Aguero. Villa last season 0-2, we’ve fucked it up. Only we hadn’t. These moments are what makes it all worthwhile, despair to elation. The clowns who throw the shit are nobodies who would be shouting and screaming about tiddl winks if they hadn’t stumbled into football.

Sitting in the garden, listening to music , still letting it all sink in. Think this just about sums up where i am.
Drinking in the morning sun. Blinking in the morning sun.
Shaking off a heavy one. Heavy like a loaded gun.
What made me behave that way , using words I never say.
I can only think it must be love.
Oh anyway, it's looking like a beautiful day.

So throw those curtains wide. One day like this a year will see me right. For life.

Thank you City. Thank you Pep.
