Interest in Grealish ahead of Jan

Crossroad for Jack.

Either bring your A game to the table or move on. It’s that simple. Pep has challenged him to get back to the treble form. This drop off from all the players needs to stop now. Time to get back to the level required. Fuck knows why they won’t? Shit losing all the time.
I tend to agree with most of this. We really need everyone performing now and no more messing around and this applies to Jack. I think the moving on bit is maybe a lot easier said than done though.

Can’t see anything here, we’re best him staying here and fighting.

Otherwise, if he goes we’ll be subsidising loans for awhile.

No one is buying, this thought of getting £50 million for him is laughable.
But he pays for himself in shirt sales!!

LOL another ridiculous myth claimed by his fan boys, the only thing this lad is known for is staggering out of nightclubs and not creating or scoring goals in what was the best club side in the world.

If any club is offering to pay and take him and his contract in January we should snap their hands off.

You're suggesting it's deliberate?

Jack's A game won't materialise until Pep moves him inside. He's a far better option than Nunes, Gundog & Kovacic as a CDM IMO...
Not sure I agree anymore.

It’s another stipulation to improve his game.

He had a free role to a certain extent at Villa but played from the left a lot and his performances were obviously very good for us to spend 100m.

I’m getting to the point were he is running out of excuses and that is not the mentality we need.

It’s a crossroads moment. Either he listens and ups his game or he won’t and either stay on the sidelines or be sold.

The one game in centre mid was ok but I’m not sure he has the engine to play that role for 90 min.

Really don’t know how this is going to play out. He should be doing a lot better as lm.

Why can’t that be an option?

Footballers are people and people drop performances and lose interest all the time. Look at Rashford.

I would argue we have a mixture of players who are trying hard every week like Bernardo, players who have been injured and are trying hard like Ake and kdb.

But unfortunately we will also have other players who maybe don’t want to put in a shift anymore. I’m not naming names but it’s clear who.

Naive to think that some players due to past success, money and squad competition, don’t have the appetit to go again.

We'll only know if Grealish can play a deep-lying, creative CDM if he's given the opportunity. If we're to continue with him as a left winger, then I agree, the bell will be tolling even louder.

HOWEVER, look at the transformation of Joelinton. Not effective enough as an out & out striker, but highly effective as a goal scoring No 8. I've long said this, but it's obvious to me that Jack's future lies centrally with City.

The club don’t agree. He is probably the last player pep goes to in that position. We got to ask why that is? We have lots of wingers and don’t really need Grealish wide because he is not productive.

Pep doesn’t mention playing him anywhere other than wide. If we buy any new midfielders in Jan or summer he has no chance playing that role.

He should be the go to guy now during an injury crises but he has not been available and tried to go to England camp while not fit. Pep doesn’t trust him, it’s that simple.

He will not be playing cdm or cm or box to box in this team.

That is a whole other argument. Grealish has brought many of his woes on himself, & when I warned about his end of the treble season conduct, many on BM jumped down my throat & accused me of being a Jack hater & a party pooper.

After we wrapped up the PL title, we still had the FA Cup Final & the CL Final to go, but Jack was already celebrating like it was the last day on earth, & as I feared, he's never been quite the same since.

If Pep perseveres with him on the left, I agree it doesn't look good for Grealish, as he's not productive enough as an attacker. If Pep doesn't trust him centrally, then the writing's on the wall. We'd be best to get rid.

However, I've long believed Grealish would be better for City as a No 8 or No 6. Whether Pep will ever see it that way is another matter.

This was his chance to shine. No kdb, no Rodri, Foden and Bernie not on form.

It was in his grasp to take the midfield role. He didn’t take his chance. I know he was injured but he still had a window to stand up and be counted.

He won’t be sold but will become a bit part player in the rebuild. Pep calling him out is a big deal. He really doesn’t do that unless he is pissed.

He won't be going anywhere in January. I'd happily take £40m for him in the summer but I doubt anyone would be willing to pay that right now.

We'd get lowballed and then spend the rest of the window either scrambling for an overpriced replacement or convincing ourselves that we don't need a replacement because we've got 43 senior players who don't play there but can do if we ask them to. Just keep him for now.
