Interesting photographs.

slightly on-topic, watching Prof Brian Cox pointing out a cluster of "stars" on an image taken by a camera on a satellite. To give it "perspective" he held up his thumb, and pointed his arm to the sky, saying the thumbnail obscures a tiny amount of the cosmos, then imagine your arm being five times longer, that is what the image shows. The staggering bit for me was when he revealed that these "stars" were not stars but galaxies....The light from these galaxies had been travelling for millions of years kin'ell

Love this photo of Debby Harry. She looks really relaxed and it seems to have been taken on the spur of the moment. My niece's husband used to work at The Sage in Gateshead as an electrician. He met her when he had to change a lightbulb in her dressing room. Lucky get! He said she was really nice and friendly.

What is art ? Good question.
Art is something that I don't understand. It's something that Banksy or Yoko Ono or Andy Warhol comes up with. It's what's in an art gallery.
A banana on a white background or a portrait of Myra Hindley using children's hands does nothing for me.
I don't see the Sinatra shot as art, it wasn't contrived, just a shot of him in what was probably his favourite room with his dog.
But it conveys his lifestyle, where he lived, what HiFi he had, what kind of dog etc.
For me it says something. That's why I posted it, and why I like it. In fact, it's one of the reasons I did the thread.

Clint Eastwood dancing with his wife in 1965.
I'm a jazz fan and so is Clint, on the floor I recognize Ahmad Jamal's LP But Not For Me.
