This formation just invites Spain to come and attack. Kane, Sterling and Rashford just end up completely disconnected.

To be honest that's fine IMO.

England are going to need to defend for 45 minutes if they're ever going to get anywhere in a major tournament.

This half has given them more tournament-useful experience than they'll get in an entire 10 game qualifying campaign against Montenegro, Serbia etc.
