In an interview on SSN today Hodgson said Leon Osman played "surprisingly well". What a back handed compliment. It sounded like he didn't think Osman was really good enough to play for England but lo and behold he didn't play as badly as he thought he would.

Baines would but Gerrard is very close to a spent force and has been rubbish for Liverpool this season.

Zaha has more to prove, we've seen these speedy wonderkids a hundred times and nearly all of them have turned out to be not as good as people expected, including our own SWP who was doing what Zaha is doing but at Premier League level.
