Fair play to Hodgson, if we are to make any progress in the tournament next summer this is the way we are going to have to play - soak up pressure, defend well and strike on the counter.

Good first half.

Impressed with Delph especially his work rate. Smalling has developed into some player this season.

Spain are the masters of possession and harassing players off the ball so not sure our players deserve stick for not matching them on that.

Morata is a class act. Apparently Costa has pictures of Del Bosque in lingerie or something to blackmail him into playing all the time.

I rate Aduriz, Del Bosque thinks he is too old.

Spain really lack the directness of David Silva and Villa, even someone like Navas and Joaquin as well tbh. They keep the ball all day, but without that occasional directness it's not that hard to keep them out. Fabregas and Diego Costa should be nowhere near the team if Del Bosque had actually been watching them lately, they've brought that Chelsea magic to the Spain team.
