He hit it way too hard. And why with the outside of his left foot? Even if he is left footed, it was a simple pass with the inside of his "weaker" foot.

Agreed with all you said. Even if a player can’t use both feet, with how much they train, I’d still expect his strong foot to be strong enough to play an easy pass in that scenario.
