International teams vs Club teams

I remember England playing a friendly against Aylesbury in 1990 . Must have been a good practice match because we got to the semis that year .

Brazil's first-ever international was against Exeter City in 1914.

How very strange! Wonder how many days it would take someone to guess they were the first team in an isolated room?

Also really random especially with how recent it is.

All good stuff though some interesting lineups and I'm sure there's more.

not sure but I know that if city entered the world cup we'd win it.

I went to that one, a fairly boring 0-0 draw IIRC. Couldn't find the Jamaican food that was supposed to be on offer and there were some very strange cigarettes being smoked in the Kippax Lower.

Both teams are scoring goals for fun. Great way for Italy to lead into the WC. Hopefully Italy take the same mentality when they play England

I'd forgotten about this game. I went too I thought it was 1 nil but I could be wrong. Remember all the stalls they set up outside Maine Road before the game

That's mad about brazil and exeter city, I googled it to check you weren't taking the piss. Here's what wiki says:

It is generally believed that the game of the Brazil national football team to be played was a 1914 match between a Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo select team and the English club Exeter City, held in Fluminense's stadium.[18][19] Brazil won 2–0 with goals by Oswaldo Gomes and Osman, whilst others claim a 3–3 draw
