also, what do they mean by "odd betting patterns"? of course alot of people betted money on Newcastle. theres two teams, you either bet on one or the other.
No it's not that simple. Let's suppose, for the sake of argument, that millions of dollars were staked in the Far East against an Arsenal win at half-time. That would certainly arouse suspicions and I'd guess that's what has happened here. Or alternatively a lot of money went on a Newcastle penalty.

People are so naive if they think this sort of thing doesn't happen. Why do you think Clattenburg was suspended? And why did another well-known referee retire early, with another two removed from the front-line after the PL received a dossier detailing their activities?

Your are incorrect if you are insinuating that Mark Clattenburg was suspended in relation to betting on games or match fixing. Make sure of your facts before posting!

I know why they SAID Clattenburg was suspended (and sacked before being reinstated). It was supposedly due to his business dealings.

But the ITK'ers know it was due to his relationship with Thaksin Shinawatra and his very dodgy performance in a Merseyside derby, which was too blatant even for the authorities to ignore.

And why do you suppose Rob Styles had to - ahem - "retire" early?

If you have to ask, you're not.

Apparently, 2 million euros were bet at halftime for a 4:4 draw. That would cause me to be suspicious. And at least one of those penalties was crap.

I'm still glad Arsenal didn't win though LOL.

Interpol have confirmed they have no idea why France 2 tv station said they were investigating and said its the first they have heard plus even the EPL have said they do not know of any strange money movements.lol

Its the old inside source BS that is a truthful as Wengers press conferences.lol
