They wouldn't let us in - got turned away from the main entrance! Apparently there's a private function on!

We got there about 10.00 on Monday night ,we were let in by a poe faced german and told to go downstairs, so we did and found a few blues, had a sing song and then asked to leave.

Found out the next day that a lot of blues had been thrown out a bit earlier and the staff were not happy with any of us.

It was the wrong Augustiner. We had a similar experience in there on Monday. The place with the cellar was more of a restaurant and they had a carol service going on in the back.

The Augustiner in the town centre was a totally different environment where we were made very welcome - except no banging on tables or bringing in stolen babies.

Munich is brilliant, the people great and we had a cab with a galatasaray fan and sang mancini.. that dark beer is insane.
