Iran

I went to Iran, lovely people, lovely cuisine,lovely culture.

Ireland had to play them in 2002 WC play off, most of my expat friends from UAE went and there were no complaints. On the return leg all the Iran supporters came to the Irish Village Bar and sat with Irish fans. Never had any issues with any of them, I still have friends in Iran.

It is not a Banana Republic.

Not commenting on Iran being a banana republic or not, you can be a citizen of a banana republic and still be a very decent person. It’s often not the fault of many of the public.

tell it to an American citizen, where their government is responsible for thousands of deaths annually, even the UK is guilty ..... so yes you re right there Blue.

You’ve missed my point. I’m not saying Iran is or isn’t a banana republic. I’m saying their citizens being decent people doesn’t make it not one.

I’m not sure what the UK is guilty of, apart from being an utter shambles with Brexit but carry on if you want.

I agree but my point is there is nothing wrong with Iran, just leave them be.

Ban , you re cool by me...... but if the UK or US were to look and judge themselves like the do to the like of Iran or other nations, they d realise they are the murdering nations, they are the terrorist countries...i dont hold you or any other citizen responsible for the killings.

Well that’s my point. A country could well be a banana republic and yet have really great citizens.

I disagree on the murder front and terrorist nations but that’s another debate and we could be here all day.
