To be fair, as a (part) Spaniard, during peak tourist season, it is often difficult to believe it is part of Spain.

Looking at the pictures, it looks an almost guarantee that it was shot down.

The fact they are saying engine failure almost proves it. Engine failures don't destroy aircraft.
