Iranian General killed by US Drone.

Just like I thought. Lots of chest thumping from Iran and then they send missiles at emly buildings after alerting the Iraqis to tell the allied forces to leave the targets.

@mat like I said, the Iranians are not that stupid. They've saved face and lied to their people. Cool.

America doesn't want a war. But Iran sure as hell couldn't survive one. The Ayatollah and his cronies are more interested in retaining power an oppressing their people than they are in getting into some prolonged losing battle in which they most likely will end up losing their livelihood and grip on power.

They are not that stupid. Was so annoying watching supposed Western news media cover the Iranian strike with Glee.

What a dissapointment some of these fukwits have turned out to become. :(

If not for our freedoms, they all should have been exiled to Iran. Let them go live with the Ayatollah.

The Iranians have proven themselves to be pretty rational with the faux attack on the US air bases. Rational enough to let them have a nuclear weapon? Probably not.

I don't know if the media were covering the Iran strike with glee but both the right and left media were definitely catastrophising the situation in this country (WWIII is imminent etc) because they will do absolutely anything for clicks. No wonder politicians feel they have to save face by responding militarily.

Of course they normally would be involved and it’s highly irregular that they aren’t in this case.

In helping to establish the cause yes they have to be involved, that is what I meant by support. It would be impossible to conduct an investigation without their support.

It won't just include Boeing either, it will include the engine manufacturer and everyone who builds every single bit of everything on that plane.

Analysis of the blackbox and conducting the investigation however is never conducted by the aircraft manufacturer.

Boeing could be criminally responsible for the crash, we don't know yet.

Boeing won't be involved in the investigation beyond support and it would actually be really inappropriate for Boeing to be involved.

If there is criminal responsibility then it would be almost like having the suspected murderer on the detective team.
Investigations are led by the responsible organisation in the country where it happened. For the UK it would be the AAIB, for the US the NTSB etc. They would assemble a team typically consisting of representatives from the Airline, crash investigators from the Airline's domicile, the aircraft manufacturer, the engine manufacturer, the crash recorder manufacturer and anyone else involved. Often, when it's a small country with limited capability or if the country where it happened was being overflown, the investigation would be delegated to the country where the airline is domiciled or where most of the passengers are from.

I suppose you are right. Clicks, ratings and money were probably the basis for the catastrophizing.

The Iranians should have just come out and said we’re not responding and we’ll take it up with the UN.

That would have made America look terrible and pathetic.

The full map is on this page and it makes quite some reading, I am literally lost for words as it appears some people cannot identify land from water, they're presumably thinking the grey is the sea and the white is the land, and others assumedly have no idea what the shape of their own country is.
Men were about twice as likely as women to be able to identify Iran on both maps,
I'm saying nothing!

Not sure the clicks argument holds too much water. Looking down the most popular stories on the BBC website, Iran-Trump is number 9. Behind the Royals, obviously, but also behind: M&S sales fall as men shun skinny trousers, John Lewis sales down and Justin Bieber has lime disease, amongst others. Most people in this country probably don't even know that anything has actually happened with Iran, much less care about any likely consequences. If it gets mentioned in Eastenders or tweeted about by Katie Perry, Taylor Swift or Cristiano Ronaldo then they might think about it for a minute but, after that, not so much..

Wouldn’t have played as well with their public though and the one thing their regime cares about is staying in power. I think they played a blinder getting their “revenge” without doing any damage.
