Considering Tehran is nowhere near the Iraqi border and the flight is going in the opposite direction.

They were pretty accurate in making sure they didn't kill US troops weren't they?Not sure how they’re claiming it was an accident.
Considering Tehran is nowhere near the Iraqi border and the flight is going in the opposite direction.

For whom? This is hardly going to lead to military action. It might bring some diplomatic problems for Iran. And certainly bad press. But since it's likely a mistake. Might not even lead to that.
