That honestly does not surprise me. It's about the money.I've mentioned it before but I was in a Lebanese restaurant about 5 years ago when I overheard a conversation between an arms manufacturer and a white house insider. The latter was bemoaning that Obama wasn't going to attack Iran and the businessman agreed that a change of President might be better for business. The matter of fact tone of the conversation was like the goods for sale were washing machines rather than Brimstone missiles.

Ordinary people who may not be like me or you. Maybe they are.
Ordinary people that don’t believe the same things as you or I. Maybe they do.
Ordinary people that are trying to do the best for their families, who are also just pawns, cannon fodder, collateral damage, like you and I. Well maybe not.
I don’t condone violence of any kind but how the Western world then acts surprised by people who have nothing committing abominable acts like 911, is amazing. Considering how foreign policy is really governed and influenced.

The current UK threat level from terrorism is SUBSTANTIAL, but you can bet MI5 are clearing the decks and preparing for a sh*t storm. Our embassies in the Middle East are no doubt on high alert, and security details will have been increased.

Iran’s younger population do engage in some of the Western Culture, music, underground parties with alcohol, designer clothes, liberal University life, etc. They have rebelled but the punishments for getting caught can be harsh.
In time, just like communism was effectively crushed in Iron Curtain countries hopefully Iran and other Mid East Countries can become more liberated and its people can lead normal lives without fear of reprisals.
I’d love to see the hardliners of Iran overthrown but also hate the way Trump thinks he can influence it. Let Iran’s population change their society organically, it would be the best way but the US as always has to be the World’s Policemen, they just attract opposition and hatred for years to come in many parts of the world.
I feel so sorry for our generation of younger people, it’s never been such a dangerous world. I’d rather see a 30 year old President of the USA who has a lot to live for than a 70 year old teetotal egomaniac who doesn’t give a fuck about the future of humanity. My gran always said don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink or wears white socks, think we can add or has an orange head to the criteria.
